Die indische Regierung hat sich heute für die Beauftragung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit ( GIZ ) GmbH zur Entsorgung von 350 Tonnen mit Pestiziden und Schwermetallen kontaminierter Erde ausgesprochen.
Bei der kontaminierten Erde handelt es sich nicht um Sondermüll aus dem tragischen Chemieunfall von 1984, sondern zum Beispiel um Insektizide aus der Landwirtschaft.

The soil in question has seen a build up of contaminants such as agricultural insecticides.

Nach dreimonatigen Vertragsverhandlungen um die Entsorgung von 350 Tonnen mit Pestiziden kontaminierter Erde aus dem indischen Bhopal zwischen der GIZ und der indischen Seite hat die GIZ heute ihr Angebot zur Entsorgung zurückgezogen.
Die umfangreichen Verhandlungen konnten in dem Zeitraum nicht zu einem Ende geführt werden.
