A qualitative evaluation of the project was jointly conducted by the Göttingen Institute for Sociological Research ( SOFI ) and Zoom - Society for prospective Developments e.V.
The study involved the close monitoring of casework with 42 project participants, including case documentation, interviews and non-participant observation.
Singular observations or inter-views were realized with 11 more participants.

Dazu wurde bei 42 Projektteilnehmerinnen und Projektteilnehmer die Fallbearbeitung über etwa ein Jahr mittels Befragungen, nicht-teilnehmenden Beobachtungen und Falldokumentation begleitet und bei weiteren elf Teilnehmenden punktuell beobachtet.
Zudem wurden zehn Nichtteilnehmende interviewt.

In our paper we show that not only participants and non-participants are different but that non-participants themselves can also be split in two different groups:
there are those who never take part in training (chronic non-participants) and those who are only currently not taking part in training (temporary (non-)participants).

In der vorliegenden Studie zeigen wir nun, dass es sich auch bei den Nicht-Teilnehmern um keine homogene Gruppe handelt:
Es gibt Personen, welche noch niemals eine Weiterbildung besucht haben (Nie-Teilnehmer) und solche, welche lediglich im Befragungszeitraum keine Weiterbildung besucht haben, jedoch ansonsten schon einmal an Weiterbildung teilgenommen haben (temporäre Nichtteilnehmer).
