Multispectral Environment Maps
As part of the project we captured a full multispectral environment map of a room at the University of Bonn which has a very complex illumination consisting of large neon lamps and small halogen spotlights.

Neon is the second-lightest noble gas, its colour is reddish-orange in a vacuum discharge tube and in neon lamps. The the refrigerating capacity of helium is over 40 times the one of liquid helium and three times that of liquid hydrogen (on a per unit volume basis).
It is a less expensive refrigerant than helium in most applications.

Es ist das zweithellste Edelgas, glüht rötlich-orange in Vakuumentladungsröhren und in Neonlampen und hat eine 40fach höhere Kühlkapazität als flüssiges Helium und eine dreimal höhere als die von flüssigem Wasserstoff (pro Volumeneinheit).
Für die meisten Anwendungen ist es ein kostengünstigeres Kühlmittel als Helium.
