With his chainsaw, Göhringer treats walnut, oak, cherrywood or poplar and creates geometric-abstract forms like cubes, blocks, rods or grids, forms that bear a certain figurative potential within their reduction.
The artist’s interest lies in the polarities of the relationships between head and body or horizontal grooves, cuts, vertical lines and grid structures, that make it possible to look through and behind the sculpture, opening the compact entities up into the space around them.

Mit der Kettensäge bearbeitet Göhringer Nussbaum, Eiche, Kirschbaum oder Pappel und schafft aus dem organischen Material geometrisch-abstrakte Formen wie Kuben, Quader, Stangen oder Gitter, die in ihrer Reduktion immer auch ein gewisses figuratives Potential in sich tragen.
Göhringer interessieren in diesem Kontext Polaritäten wie die Zusammenhänge von Kopf und Körper oder horizontal gesetzte Kerben, Schnitte und vertikale Linien- und Gitterstrukturen, die teils Durchblicke ermöglichen, die Skulptur also öffnen, teils als geschlossene, kompakte Gebilde sich den Raum erobern.
