Die bei diesen Vorgängen entstehende Reibleistung (einige Watt bis mehrere Kilowatt) kann das ATF-Öl (Automatic Transmisson Fluid) punktuell überhitzen und somit maßgeblich die Getriebelebensdauer verkürzen, so dass eine wirkungsvolle Reibbelagkühlung zwingend notwendig ist.
Hierzu wird gezielt Öl durch oder über die Reibbeläge geleitet.
