João ist neben seiner Tätigkeit als Dozent für Internationale Beziehungen an der Universität Candido Mendes technischer Sachverständiger für historisches und kulturelles Erbe des Ministério Público des Staates von Rio de Janeiro .
Durch seine Erfahrung als Mitglied einer staatlichen Institution wies er zunächst auf die Probleme bei der Übertragung von Best-Practice-Erfahrungen im Bereich Klimaschutz oder Energiewende aus dem Ausland hin.

Speaking form his experience as a member of a public institution, he opened by relating some of the problems that occur when importing best-practice-experiences to the areas of climate protection and energy from foreign countries.
