Seit Herbst 2013 ist Franz Ortner Cellist des Ensembles .

www.triovanbeethoven.atEr ist Preisträger des Internationalen Brahms Wettbewerbs 2004 und des Cellowettbewerbs „ Gradus ad Parnassum “ 2005, außerdem war er zwei Jahre Stipendiat der Lucerne Festival Academy unter Pierre Boulez.
2006-2009 war Franz Ortner Solocellist des Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra in Lissabon ( Portugal ) , seit Jänner 2009 ist er 1. Cellist des Esbjerg Ensembles in Dänemark .
2010 hat Franz Ortner mit der Pianistin Caroline Boirot eine CD mit Werken von Brahms, Fuchs, Kirchner und Schumann veröffentlicht.

2006-2008 he was the principal cellist of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra (Portugal), since 2009 he holds the position of first cellist of the Esbjerg Ensemble in Denmark.
2010 Franz Ortner released a CD with french pianist Caroline Boirot comprising works of Brahms, Fuchs, Kirchner and Schumann.
