Der XPS-Sektor in China besteht aus rund 500 kleinen und mittelgroßen Unternehmen.
Bei der Herstellung von XPS-Schaumplatten nutzen die Hersteller bislang klima- und ozonschädliche Gase, sogenannte H-FCKW (teilhalogenierte FCKWs, synthetisch hergestellte Gase).
Tausende Tonnen dieser Gase entweichen Jahr für Jahr unkontrolliert in die Atmosphäre und tragen dadurch sowohl zur Zerstörung der Ozonschicht wie auch zur globalen Erwärmung bei.

www.giz.deCRISTA, ein Messgerät zur Untersuchung der Erdatmosphäre im Höhenbereich von 10 km - 150 km, wurde im November 1994 und im August 1997 mit dem Space Shuttle der NASA in eine Erdumlaufbahn gebracht und hat von dort aus für jeweils zehn Tage die Spurengasverteilung der mittleren und oberen Atmosphäre dreidimensional vermessen.
CRISTA misst mittels sogenannter Fernerkundung mit drei Teleskopen gleichzeitig die Infrarotstrahlung von mehr als 15 verschiedenen Spurengasen wie Ozon, CO2, FCKWs, Stickoxiden, Methan, etc ..
Hierzu werden die Teleskope und Spektrometer von CRISTA mit flüssigem Helium auf eine Temperatur von ca. - 260 ° C gekühlt.

In diesem Projekt wird eine seegängige Messapparatur für die simultane Analyse von FCKWs und SF6 in Meerwasserproben aufgebaut.
Die Apparatur soll auf See getestet und verbessert werden.
www.ocean.uni-bremen.deDue to the declining trend of atmospheric chlorofluorocarbons ( CFCs ) and the rising atmospheric concentrarions of sulphurhexafluoride ( SF6 ) the latter tracer is a promising parameter for future estimations of deep water formation rates derived from their respective tracer inventories.
A sea-going analysis system for simultaneous measurements of CFCs and SF6 in seawater will be built in the framework of this project.
The system will be tested and improved at sea.
