Die JUGS e.V. wurde im März 1997 als unabhängiger, gemeinnütziger Verein gegründet und hat heute über 400 Mitglieder.
Unser Ziel ist es, Java-Anwendern und Interessierten ein Forum zum Austausch von Informationen und Erfahrungen zu bieten und den Aufbau direkter Kontakte zu innovativen Firmen der Region zu ermöglichen.

It was established in March 1997 as an independent, non-profit organization and today has more than 360 members, most of whom are IT professionals.
We aim to provide a forum to practitioners and other people interested in Java in which to exchange information and experiences as well as to facilitate contacts to innovative businesses in the region.

www.jugs.deEs war schon seit längerem klar, dass die Kommunikation zwischen dem JUG Team und den JUG Organisatoren verbesserungswürdig ist - sowohl um sicherzustellen, dass Bewerbungen im Zug des ganzen Prozesses nicht verloren gehen, als auch umgekehrt dass JUG Organisatoren ihre Kommunikation mit dem JUG Team besser nachvollziehen können.
Ich habe eng mit Pedro Gonçalves zusammengearbeitet und mitgeholfen, das Maqma Helpdesk im JUG Portal zu implementieren, welches in den letzten Wochen zusammen mit ein paar ausgewählten JUGs getestet worden ist.
Wir haben eben damit begonnen, dieses Helpdesk mit einigen Tickets in Betrieb zu nehmen, und wir hoffen, dass es beiden Seiten nützt, einerseits als Anlaufstelle für Fragen und Probleme, andererseits auch als ein Ort für allgemeine Fragen und FAQs.

I have been working closely with Pedro Gonçalves to implement the Maqma helpdesk on the JUG portal, which we have been testing over the past few weeks with some JUG Organisers.
We have just started to use the helpdesk with our first few tickets, and we hope it will serve a dual purpose, both for raising and dealing with questions and problems but also as a location for FAQs and common questions.
