The film festival, which takes place in Heidelberg and was initiated 2010 by the Network Aging Research under leadership of Dr. Michael Doh, received the nomination for the German Aging Award 2013 of the Robert Bosch Foundation.
www.nar.uni-heidelberg.deWir hören Parranda-Musik der Garifuna, Calypsos, Kaseko und Plena aus der Karibik und aus Mittelamerika, Son und Salsa aus Cuba, Puerto Rico und von der Domenikanischen Republik, Cumbias von Lizandro Meza und von Totó La Momposina aus Kolumbien, erotische Tanzmusik aus Martinique und aus Guadeloupe, die Stars der afro-karibischen Musik Pepe Vasquez und Susana Baca aus Peru.
Und den Brückenschlag von Afrika zum Salsa mit einer legendären Aufnahme von Monguito el Unico mit dem Sänger Doh Albert.
Ein Großteil der Stücke stammt von kleinen, hochspezialisierten Labels aus Nord-, Mittel- und Südamerika sowie der Karibik, die hier nur schwer zu bekommen sind, einige Stücke sind Originalaufnahmen für diese Edition.
