Silke Matthes hat Gebärdensprachen ( M.A. ) an der Universität Hamburg studiert und ist seit 2009 als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Deutsche Gebärdensprache und Kommunikation Gehörloser tätig.
Zunächst arbeitete sie im EU-Projekt Dicta-Sign.
Seit April 2012 gehört sie zum DGS-Korpus-Team.
