Bezüglich der Inhaltsstoffe gibt es eine Reihe von Chemikalien („Banned Chemicals“, s.„Banned List“), die als Produktbestandteile die Zertifizierung eines Produkts verhindern.
Darüber hinaus werden Produkte nicht zertifiziert, wenn sie konzeptionell nicht in die Cradle to Cradle® -Grundsätze passen.
