Begonnen haben die Teleskopaktività ¤ ten bei Kayser-Threde vor mehr als 10 Jahren mit der Entwicklung eines Infrarotteleskops für den Weltraumeinsatz.
Danach folgte das ORFEUS-Teleskop, das 1993 und 1996 erfolgreich mit dem amerikanischen Space Shuttle im Rahmen der ASTRO-SPAS-Missionen geflogen wurde.
