Die Arbeitsgruppe von Professor Tim Wehling arbeitet daran, Theorien zur Beschreibung solch stark korrelierter Elektronensysteme mit Vorhersagekraft zu etablieren.
Wenn auch heute noch Zukunftsmusik (insbesondere wegen der sehr tiefen Temperaturen im Experiment) könnten derartige Theorien eines Tages die Grundlage für das Maßschneidern stabiler magnetischer Nanostrukturen für neuartige Bausteine in der Informationstechnologie sein.

Der Energiebereich bis 800 MeV wurde am Beschleuniger MAMI in Mainz untersucht, der Energiebereich bis 3,0 GeV wurde bei ELSA untersucht.
