Daher sind die Werkzeuge der Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie, und der Theorie stochastischer Prozesse und ihrer Dynamik unverzichtbar für das analytische Verständnis und die Behandlung der resultierenden Modelle.
Daher zielt unser Projekt auf eine gemeinsame Anstrengung der drei Disziplinen nicht- lineare Physik komplexer interagierender Systeme, statistische Inferenz und Zeitreihenanalyse sowie stochastische Analyse und zufällige dynamische Systeme.
Unser Hauptziel ist die Verbesserung physikalischer Modelle, z. B. durch die Verwendung nicht-Gaußscher stochastischer Störungen, die Kalibrierung und Validierung von Modellen durch passende und z. T. neue statistische Methoden, sowie das Verständnis und die Analyse dieser Modelle aus mathematischer Sicht.
